JOTA at Cataract- 15/16 October 2011 Print E-mail

Attention: Leaders

Fishers Ghost Amateur Radio Club (FGARC) will once again be manning the Amateur Radio Building at Cataract Scout Park this year. Cataract Scout Park is the only Scout Park in NSW that has a dedicated radio shack.

Why not bring your Cubs/Scouts to Cataract for this event and let them enjoy the experience of talking over the air waves to other Scouts around Australia.

  • If you are making it a camping weekend they will also have the opportunity to make contact with Scouts overseas during the early hours of the evening.  Please note, you will need to make arrangements for a camping weekend through the normal channels, but it will also be necessary to let FGARC know as indicated below.
  • If you wish to come on a DAY ONLY basis and provide your own food, Park Management has agreed there will be no charge.  FREE ENTRY to the Park for either day only covers the JOTA activity.

So, Leaders if you can’t make it – encourage parents to bring their Cubs/Scouts to Cataract Scout Park and mums and dads will then be able to see the great safe facilities available.

FGARC members will also be at Kentlyn Guides Camp for this event.

It is understood JOTA/JOTI badges will be available through the normal channels for about 50 cents each.

It is essential to let FGARC know if you intend going to Cataract so they can ensure they have the necessary manpower to assist the Scouts. FGARC will also you provide the security code for entry to the Park for that day.Contact details: email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
