Scouts Mexico Earthquake Relief Fund Print E-mail

On 19th September 2017, a major earthquake killed hundreds of people and caused catastrophic damages in Mexico City and the surroundings. Despite many being affected by the disaster themselves, over 4000 Scouts in Mexico took immediate actions to assist their community, turning the Scouts Mexico headquarters into a collection and operation centre, delivering food and drinks to rescuers, assisting with clearing rubble and encouraging blood donation.

Considering the magnitude of the damages, relief and recovery efforts will take time and will require significant resources to help the Scouts continue their support to the population and live their ideal of being always ready to serve.

Scouts Mexico has created a project on WOSM’s Scout Donation Platform to help raise funds to support their disaster relief. Scouts Australia has contributed to the fund on behalf of its members. Individuals can also make donations to the fund by clicking the button below:
