Hiking can take you to some amazing places that cannot be seen any other way, but sometimes it’s just the hike itself that is the best fun. Breathing fresh air, carrying vital supplies, and working with your friends to find the safest route – it can be quite an adventure!
NOTE: A bushwalking qualification is required for all bushwalking activities (including Award Scheme walks) and must be held by the leader of the walk (this includes youth members).
The level of qualification depends on the skills of the participants and the level of difficulty of the walk. A preliminary bushwalking qualification can be assessed on experience and will allow a leader to take a party of five Scouts on an overnight hike. (refer to policy for details)
