WHS Committee Member – Under 30

  • Candidates must hold Scout membership and be under 30 years of age
  • Experience in relevant law, health and safety, or risk management disciplines is essential
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Scouts NSW General Manager and Officers on all aspects of WHS policy, procedures and practices.

Scouts Australia NSW is seeking to appoint a new member under the age of 30 to its Work Health and Safety Committee.

Scouts Australia NSW is a not-for-profit youth organisation that engages and inspires young Australians to develop confidence, resilience and leadership skills within a fun, safe and secure environment.

The WHS Committee recommends (to the Board), actions and monitors procedures, practices and controls to ensure that Scouts NSW is meeting its responsibilities under applicable WHS legislation and the Scouts NSW WHS Policy and Framework, as approved by the Board.

The Role:
This is an honorary appointment for 3 years. Committee members meet eleven (11) times per year, commencing February 2018. The Committee will then meet every month thereafter.

Committee members are expected to attend 75% of meetings (either in person at Scouts NSW State Office or by teleconference), and may be required to attend additional meetings as deemed necessary.

Candidates must hold Scout membership and be under 30 years of age to be considered.
