Program Manager - Cataract Scout Park

Cataract Scout Park is currently seeking an experienced Program Manager on a full time basis.

Cataract Scout Park hosts many Scout, School and Community Camps and Activities right through the year.  Set on 160 hectares, Cataract Scout Park has been the site for 4 Australian and 1 World Scouting Jamboree.

As Program Manager you will be required to design and implement exciting relevant programs for primary and high school students, youth groups, corporate, private, scouting and girl-guide groups, roster staff and liaise with other Park staff regarding Cleaning, Catering and Maintenance.

You will lead a vibrant and enthusiastic team of Activity Instructors.

Required qualifications:

  1. Outdoor Recreation Certificate IV / Diploma or Degree
  2. Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  3. Current CPR Certificate
  4. Current Working With Children Check Number

Desirable qualifications:

  1. Bronze Medallion or other equivalent qualifications
  2. Manual driver's license
  3. Experience in team leadership and mentoring
  4. Have a passion for Outdoor Education
  5. Experience in working in a Camp environment
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

State Commissioner - Risk Management

Scouts Australia NSW is currently seeking applications for the role of State Commissioner (SC) Risk Management.

The State Commissioner (SC) Risk Management is responsible for working jointly with the Deputy Chief Commissioner (DCC) Child Protection, Support and Compliance to:

  • Build a risk management database and a set of planned contingencies
  • Undertake a system of education for Members that will raise awareness of risk, of how to manage and respond to risk, and how to report incidents when required
  • Devise a system of reporting metrics and using them to demonstrate the improvement over time of risk management strategies in Scouts NSW

The SC will assist the DCC in five areas:

  1. operational leadership – setting the direction of Scouts NSW.
  2. collaborative teamwork – keeping in step with others.
  3. operational excellence – doing everything well.
  4. prudent business management – being efficient and effective.
  5. productive performance measurement – knowing where we are at all times.

Assistant State Commissioner - Venturer Scouts (Manager of Youth Projects)

Scouts Australia NSW's State Venturer Council is currently seeking applications for the role of Assistant State Commissioner - Venturer Scouts (Manager of Youth Projects).

As the Manager of Youth Projects, the Assistant State Commissioner (Venturer Scouts) will be responsible for ensuring that the youth members of the NSW State Venturer Council are well represented and that the projects raised by the NSW State Venturer Council are in line with the Strategic Plan.

The Assistant State Commissioner (Venturer Scouts) will assist the State Commissioner (Venturer Scouts) in five areas:

  1. implementation advice – giving guidance to the State Venturer Council’s project patrols supporting a “Youth Leading, Adult Supporting” model
  2. collaborative teamwork – working with the state Venturer Council members to drive project patrols and archive project outcomes
  3. operational excellence – doing everything well
  4. responsive and proactive – being efficient and effective in working with self-selecting Groups
  5. performance measurement – knowing the status of ‘projects’ at all times

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Passion for the Venturer Section
  • Innovative ideas to help improve the overall quality of the Venturer Section and Scouting in general
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and teams
  • Enthusiasm for the strategic direction of Scouts NSW
  • Proven record of accomplishment of, or demonstrable capacity for, leadership and the effective implementation of significant organisational change
  • Sound, evidence-based judgement, and accountable decision making
  • Enthusiasm for the strategic direction of Scouts NSW, including the Current Strategic Plan and the Chief Commissioner's Strategic Priorities
  • An appropriate fit with the positive and enabling culture of Scouts NSW
  • Strong written & verbal communication including social media

State Commissioner - Creative Arts

Scouts Australia NSW is currently seeking applications for the role of State Commissioner (SC) Creative Arts.

The State Commissioner (SC) Creative Arts will be responsible for:

  • Developing a comprehensive program of dramatic arts and related activities to maintain and extend a broad range of skills to support high-quality Gang Shows.
  • Promoting and staging both Gang Shows and other creative events to raise public awareness of creative Scouting. Working with the media and arts organisations to assist Scouts who wish to pursue careers in the creative arts.
  • Encouraging Groups to become their own media team, to provide Scouts NSW with photography, video, recordings and stories of their activities and, through this, promoting Scouts as involved, active, savvy and creative individuals.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and aptitudes:

  • Ability to contribute productively to a framework set by others
  • Sound, evidence-based judgement and accountable decision making
  • Proven, successful track record of effective teamwork among adults
  • Proven track record of proactive and results orientation
  • Enthusiasm for the new strategic direction of Scouts NSW, including the Strategic Plan 2016-2018 and the Chief Commissioner's seven Strategic Priorities
