Meet our Youth Safe Advocates – Neville

Name: Neville Henderson

Role in Scouts: Honorary Commissioner (Region)

Day Job: Retired

Hobbies and Interests: I am Chair of the Scouts NSW Insurance Committee and Deputy Chair of Cumberland Gang Show Scout Group. I am a mad Parramatta Eels Supporter.

What has been your favourite moment in Scouting? Seeing my two children awarded the Queen's Scout Award and my four grandchildren join Scouts.

What inspired you to work with youth members? I joined when my son's Scout Group badly needed a Scout Leader.

What key thing has a youth member said to you that has stayed with you? I have had many things said by youth members but probably would be a "thank you" from Venturers gaining their Queens Scout Badge.

Why did you become a Youth Safe Advocate? As a member of the Insurance Committee I need to be updated with the Scout Safe Policies of Scouts NSW and the OCG.

Why is the Youth Safe Advocates scheme important for Scouts NSW? To give leaders and others training on Scout Safe matters.

What is the key message you want everyone to remember about the Youth Safe Advocates scheme? We are all here to look after the welfare of our youth members.
