Information for Applicants

Scouts for Refugees aims to provide financial assistance for young people new to Australia, living in NSW, who are aged 5 to 18 years of age, to enable them to participate in the Scouting program and make meaningful connections in their local community.

Grants will assist new members in meeting the typical costs of Scouting including membership and joining fees, uniform requirements, and activities up to the value of $150.

Successful applicants will be asked to share their experience of how Scouts for Refugees has a made a positive impact on their lives. A simple essay of 100 words shared twice a year with our Donors, recipients will not be identified by name.

If you find you still need assistance at the conclusion of a grant period, typically 12 months - you are welcome to reapply.

How to Apply

Applying for a grant is easy. Simply download and complete the Application Form. You will be asked to provide contact details, and some information about yourself with help from your Group Leader or an adult in Scouts. Your Group Leader will also need to complete some information on the application form.

Completed applications can be submitted online to the email address provided or by post to the return address supplied or the application can be given to your Group Leader. A copy of the application should be sent to your Group Leader

Your application will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and only the Scouts for Refugees Support Fund Management Committee and your Group Leader will have access to your information.

A response to your application will take approximately four weeks and you can choose to be advised either by email or post to you or your Group Leader.
