There are a wide range of training opportunities available to Venturer Scouts.
Before completing any activity training, all Venturer Scouts must complete the e-Learning Basic Outdoor Skills, the Basic Outdoor Skills Assessment of Proficiency workbook and provide a current log book. Venturers will need to complete the following modules which can be found under the Training for Youth Members on Scout Central.

- Use and Maintain a Temporary or Overnight Site (Theory)

- Group Facilitation
- Responding to Emergencies
- Elementary Navigation
- Basic ScoutSafe
- WHS for Scouting

Accredited courses offered through the Scouts Australia Institute of Training
The Scouts Australia Institute of Training is a Registered Training Organisation. It offers a number of leadership and management courses that Venturers can use to further their careers and personal lives. Below is a list of recommended accredited courses offered through the Institute:
- BSB20115 Certificate II in Business
- SIS20213 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation
BSB20115 Certificate II in Business
By achieving your Venturer Award, you are eligible to apply the Nationally Recognised Certificate II in Business.
The Certificate II in Business is a nationally recognised qualification which is an excellent qualification for people who are joining or have recently started in the workforce.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of junior workplace roles. They can perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.
SIS20213 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation
The Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation is a nationally recognised qualification which provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in performing core skills in outdoor recreation environments and assisting with the conduct of a range of outdoor activities.
Work would be undertaken in field locations such as camps or in indoor recreation centres or facilities, in differing environments such as water-based, dry land and mountainous terrains, using a diverse range of equipment.
