Expression of Interest: Wilderness First Aid (including Provide First Aid) – Camp Kurrajong, Wagga Wagga

The Wilderness First Aid is recommended for activities 30 minutes away from ambulance services. It is also a requirement for Guide Level Adventurous Activities.  We are currently taking expressions of interest to attend this Wilderness First Aid course.

Elements of this course include:

  1. Prepare equipment for first aid response in remote or isolated areas.
  2. Assess the situation.
  3. Manage casualty or casualties.
  4. Liaise with external services to manage casualty or casualties.
  5. Coordinate evacuation and first aid activities until assistance arrives.
  6. Debrief, document and evaluate the incident.

Units covered:

  • HLTAI003 Provide First Aid,
  • SOSOFLD004 Provide first aid in remote locations and,
  • SISXEMR002 Coordinate emergency responses

There is an option to only do the HLTAI003 Provide First Aid – starting on Friday on 7 pm until Saturday 12pm and is $60.

If you already have the HLTAI003 Provide First Aid and require – SOSOFLD004 Provide first aid in remote locations and SISXEMR002 Coordinate emergency responses it will start at 1pm Saturday finishing at 4pm Sunday and is $60.

If you would like to do the entire weekend, the full course cost will be $120.

Please be aware that these costs do not include venue or catering. These venue and catering costs will be confirmed closer to the course. No money will be charged until these additional costs are confirmed and the course is going ahead. We will also ensure all NSW health orders are followed so this course may be postponed at short notice.

The following cancelation policy is applicable to this training;

  • Withdrawal before the Closing Date – Full refund
  • Withdrawal after the closing date of the course – less $20 charge
  • Withdrawal less than 5 days before the course – No refund (Exceptional circumstances will be considered by your RCATD)


  1. The application must be completed by the applicant, or if under 18 years old, the applicant’s parent/guardian.
  2. Completed application and payment for full course fees must be sent directly to the Scouts NSW Training Team at State Office.
  3. Applications must be received before the closing date advertised in the Training Calendar.
  4. All prerequisites must be completed before the closing date.
  5. Your basic information may be shared with the Department of Communities and Justice for the purpose of grant reporting.
