Commissioner
Following extensive consultation, a new organisational structure was implemented for our uniformed personnel. All positions have been advertised state-wide, and merit selection processes applied. Our new team of Deputy Chief Commissioners was announced in March 2017.
I thank each volunteer, supporter and professional
staff member for their extraordinary commitment and dedication to our Movement throughout 2016-17. In particular, I thank our Board, Chief Executive Of cer, Region Commissioners, Deputy Chief Commissioners, and State Commissioners for their dedicated support. Signi cantly,
I thank our more than 13,000 youth members and their families, for choosing Scouts NSW as their preferred youth development organisation.
I look forward to working with all our members so that, together, we can revitalise Scouting across NSW.

Dick and Pip Smith Foundation
The Dick and Pip Smith Foundation donated $10,000 to the Scouts NSW Air Activity Centre. This funding will assist Scouts from across the state engage with the wonders of  ight while inspiring them to become the next generation of pilots. Scouts NSW expresses our sincerest thanks to Dick and Pip Smith.
eSafety Youth Consultation
FourVenturers and the newly appointed Scouts NSW Youth Commissioner joined 40 other young people on 4 April 2017 at the Royal CommissionYouth Consultation on eSafety. One of two held in Australia, there were four Commissioners in attendance - Royal Commissioners Justice Coate and Commissioner Atkinson; the National Children’s Commissioner Megan Mitchell and the eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman-Grant.
The Commissioners were all very impressed with
the young people in attendance and with the quality
of the discussion.The Royal Commission will use the  ndings from these consultations to assist in formulating recommendations for their  nal report, expected to be available in early 2018.

On 10 September 2016, with the support of 10 youth members, newly appointed Chief Commissioner Neville Tomkins OAM, JP reaf rmed his Scout Promise at Baden-Powell Scout Centre joined by Scouting Commissioners and friends.
