Meet the Scouts NSW Health and Safety Committee

The Scouts NSW Health and Safety Committee (HSC) is responsible for representing members and workgroups on health and safety discussions.

While responsibility for managing work and recreational health and safety at the local level remain unchanged, the HSC provides a more strategic, consultative forum and may be requested to help find solutions for specific issues if they remain unresolved.

The broader benefits of this consultative approach include the sharing of knowledge and the ability to find more effective solutions to health and safety issues across the Association.

Meetings are held bi-monthly, on the alternate month to the Region Commissioners Forum, unless otherwise agreed by the Committee members.

Where decisions arising from the HSC activities are required these will be escalated to the Chief Commissioner’s Council as recommendations for approval.

The HSC comprises the following members:

  • One member from each of the ten (10) Scouts NSW Regions.
  • State Commissioner (Risk and Safety) - Chairperson
  • WHS & Risk Manager - Secretary
  • Commercial Manager
  • State Commissioner (Adventure Centres & Bases)

If you have any matters to be discussed with the committee, please first discuss with your Region's representative below.
