New BCORE CHILD and BCORE WHS eLearning Requirements for Adults in Scouting

As part of its ongoing commitment to create and maintain high standards of Child Safety and WHS, Scouts Australia has determined that training on mandated e-Learning modules will be considered current for 3 years from the date of first completion. This means that all Adults in Scouting will now be required to re-complete the “current” module(s) before their 3 year validity period expires.

Members who completed their Childsafe Scouting and WHS Modules in 2014 will have received an email reminder in the last few days notifying them to renew these modules. If you haven’t already, please check your inbox for this email reminder, and follow the prompts to recomplete your modules in Scout Central.

Please note – Leaders who completed their BCORE CHILD and BCORE WHS modules more recently (within the last two years), have not been sent an email in this first instance. Rolling email notifications will be sent out in the weeks leading up to module expiry.

The BCORE CHILD and BCORE WHS modules are very important in ensuring all Adults in Scouting have the skills and knowledge required to effectively support our youth members. Both modules have been updated to reflect Child Safety and WHS policies, and keep pace with legislation and community expectations, so revisiting them every three years is important in ensuring your knowledge and understanding of Child Safe Scouting and WHS in Scouting are kept up to date.

If you did complete your BCORE CHILD and BCORE WHS modules in 2014 but did not receive an email, this may be because your email address is not up to date on ScoutLink. Please contact your Formation Administration Officer to update your email address, and log into Scout Central to recomplete your module(s).
