New Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) appointed

The Chief Commissioner of Scouts NSW is pleased to advise the appointment of Greg Barnier as the new Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations).

Greg has 32 years’ membership with Scouts NSW and Scouts QLD, both as a youth member, and in adult leadership roles. Amongst many other appointments, Greg was Region Commissioner (Operations) in Greater Western Sydney and a Cub Scout Leader with 2nd Castle Hill Scout Group.

In Scouts Qld, Greg filled the roles of Branch Commissioner (Water Activities) and Branch Commissioner (Joey Scouts) along with sectional and activity leader roles. He was a Leader at the 16th World Scout Jamboree and holds a Woodbadge. Greg is also a Queen’s Scout.

Greg has a distinguished professional career including 35 years with Westpac and more recently as Chief People Officer at iCare where he developed a new structure and new culture for the organisation.

 

Greg takes up his appointment this Thursday 23 December 2021 for a three-year term.
