Scouts in a post-pandemic world

Over the last week the NSW Government has announced the roadmap to re-open the State and the new freedoms we will be able to enjoy in the coming months. There is now a clear pathway back to face-to-face Scouting for young people and Scout Leaders. It has been a long and challenging period of lockdown for some and disconnection for others.

A team has come together to manage our transition from virtual Scouting and back to face-to-face activities and Scout meetings. This team has reviewed what is allowed and what is not permitted so that families and Leaders can feel confident about coming back.

There are two key principles for returning to face-to-face Scouting:

  1. Scouts will always abide by NSW Government health regulations.
  2. Under current policy, Scouts Australia and Scouts NSW encourage members to be vaccinated for their own health and to help us respond to our duty of care for each other and our community.

Visit the COVID response webpages to access the updated information – the resources have now been updated and FAQs will be added with further information. You should also check out the Roadmap to reopening.
