Delivering professional services to the Scouting community in NSW

The Scouts NSW Service Centre based in Sydney Olympic Park provides the professional framework to support the delivery of Scouting in New South Wales.

Our 14 Service Areas work together to provide expertise on a range of business functions. Each Service Area manages a distinct portfolio to ensure the organisation meets the needs of its members, and complies with relevant regulations and community expectations.
 

Our Service Areas

Executive Services


Supporting the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commissioner of Scouts NSW. Coordinates State-level events including Board Meetings, Planning Days, the Annual General Meeting, Chief Commissioner's Council and Commissioner's Conference. Responsible for management of the Scouts NSW Service Centre.

Member Services


Providing first level customer service to members, leadership teams and the general public. Responsible for providing quality assurance and management of membership data including Working with Children Checks, Police Checks, and the operational oversight of Peak Awards processing, fee invoicing, Operoo and Active Kids.

Training Services


Managing training records and accredited qualifications. Administering Leader Training, Wood Badges, eLearning, Adventurous Activity training, the Youth Safe Advocates Scheme and Training Team Rebate.
 

Property


Enabling the Scouting program through strategic stewardship of Scouts NSW's real estate portfolio across the State, utilising an Asset Management and communicative approach.
 
 

Finance


Responsible for the strategic and operational aspects of financial planning and management, insurance, procurement, budgeting, taxation, audit, payroll, and financial accounting.
 
 

Grants


Administering government and philanthropic grants for Scouts NSW and Scout Groups, including the Community Building Partnership Grants.
 
 

Marketing and Communications


Managing and coordinating Scouts NSW’s marketing, corporate communications, brand management, media, digital media, design, publications, events and promotional activities.
 
 

Information Technology


Executing IT service management functions to help keep business operations up and running smoothly.
 
 
 

Project Management Office


Managing, governing and delivering projects according to an approved framework. Provides governance and reporting for strategic and BAU projects as well as change management and benefits realisation tracking.
 

Activity Centres


Managing the Alpine Activity Centre, Cataract Activity Centre, and Baden Powell Activity Centre, including the provision of onsite caretaking, maintenance and bookings management.
 
 

Child Protection


Coordinating Child Protection and Behavioural Management Issues and developing and championing the Scouts NSW Child Safety Policy and Procedures.
 
 

WHS and Risk


Coordinating compliance, incident and hazard reports, asbestos management, WHS site audits, and providing support for volunteer and employed staff risk management.
 
 

Research and Historical Matters


Researching historical matters and coordinating restorative engagement efforts.
 
 
 

Issues Management and Escalations


Managing arising issues and concerns, and coordinating the escalation process.
