It has been a huge few months in International Scouting. We had contingents of 100 Aussies head to the APR Jamboree in Mongolia, to the NORD Jamboree in Norway, and to the German Jamboree. We also had a record breaking 450+ Rovers travel all the way to Iceland for the World Rover Moot – joining 5000+ Rovers for an incredible fortnight of adrenaline and adventure, friendship and fun.
And the fun is only just beginning. There are some amazing opportunities currently open to explore the world, and experience the magic of International Scouting. New Zealand, Japan, Ireland, the United States, and even the Baden-Powell Peak in Nepal – there is plenty of adventure in store for everyone all over NSW!
Applications are currently open to join the Australian Contingent to both the Nippon Jamboree 2018 in Japan, and the JamboRi 2018 in Ireland. National jamborees are an amazing chance to immerse yourself in a foreign culture, and you can guarantee that the 40+ Aussies at each event will be popular friends for everyone! Tack on a Pretour in either Japan or Scotland, and you have yourself a memorable trip. Now is the time to register!
The World Scout Jamboree 2019 in the United States is fast approaching too, and the Australian Contingent is waiting to hear from you! 500 Aussies have already signed up to make this the biggest WSJ Aussie Contingent ever – and there is plenty of room for more. A World Jamboree brings together Scouts and Venturers from all over the globe, and will leave you with experiences and stories that you will never forget. Activities by day, street parties by night; and new friends each and every day. There is also a pretour exploring the US and Canada, to make the most of your airfare and extend the good times.
Rovers also have the chance to join the expedition to Baden-Powell Peak in the Nepalese Himalayas. This boutique trip will feature an incredible 20 day trek, a push for the summit, views you can’t imagine, and a bond that you will never break. It is adventurous Scouting at its best – with plenty of international sightseeing thrown in. Don’t miss your chance to make history, and grab an iconic photo at 5,825m on BP Peak.
Rovers can also celebrate their centenary in 2018 by helping grow Scouting in Mongolia through the Mongolia Aid Project, visiting The Netherlands and Germany through Roverway 2018 and participating in the 76th New Zealand Rover Moot.
Finally, Iluminate 2019 will see the return of the super-popular New Zealand Venture. After record-breaking 2013 and 2016 events and rave reviews, the 2019 edition promises to be another incredible trip. Join Venturers from across the country, from across New Zealand and beyond for two weeks of incredible adventure, rich Maori culture and the breathtaking kiwi scenery. Adrenaline activities that you cant do anywhere else, and the freedom to choose your own adventure. Applications will open in early 2018, and it’s sure to be another popular trip!
