Families can redeem both Active Kids vouchers with Scouts NSW

Great news, families can redeem both of their Active Kids vouchers with Scouts!

In 2018, the NSW Government introduced a $100 Active Kids voucher to help families across the State meet the cost of enrolling their children into recreation, sport and active fitness activities like Scouts. In its first year, families redeemed almost 5000 vouchers with Scouts NSW.

On 1 July 2019, the NSW Government will release a second $100 Active Kids voucher, ensuring families who want their children to enjoy the Scout program can send their children to Scouts. Every child (4.5 – 18 years old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 is eligible for an Active Kids voucher. This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.

What has changed?

Families can apply for and redeem their first Active Kids voucher from 1 January 2019 and their second Active Kids voucher from 1 July 2019.    Both Active Kids vouchers are valid until 31 December 2019.

What has stayed the same?

The process for families to redeem Active Kids vouchers will remain the same.

Redeeming either of your Active Kids vouchers is as as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Apply for your Active Kids voucher on the Service NSW online portal here.
  2. Download a copy of your voucher.
  3. Go to the Active Kids page on the Scouts NSW website to redeem your voucher.
How will it work?

The first voucher received by Scouts NSW (either AKR voucher 1 or AKR voucher 2) will go towards the Scouts NSW membership fee.

The second voucher received by Scouts NSW (either AKR voucher 1 or AKR voucher 2) will go towards participation/program activities. The funds from this voucher will be transferred to the Group and can go towards term fees, activities, events or camps.

The roll-out of the second Active Kids voucher will greatly benefit families who want to their children to have a great Scouting experience. We look forward to delivering fun, challenging and adventurous programs to new and current members throughout 2019.
