Chief Chat – Adult Recognition Award 2018

Scouts Australia NSW
2018 Adult Recognition Awards

Dear Members and Supporters,

Today, we observe World Scout Day, commemorating the founding of Scouting exactly 111 years ago. What started as a small camp on Brownsea Island on 1 August 1907 is today a worldwide movement, with more than 40 million young people and adults in over 200 countries proudly calling themselves Scouts.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank each one of our members and supporters across Scouts NSW – uniformed and non-uniformed alike – for your commitment to Scouting and immense contribution to our success.

In particular, I would like to acknowledge our Adult Members who give their time every week to help shape the character and values of our young people.

Thus, it is with great pleasure that I write to you today to congratulate the 335 Adult Members and Supporters of Scouts Australia (NSW Branch) who have been honoured by the Chief Scout of Australia, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) in the 2018 Adult Recognition Awards.

The recipients have been acknowledged for their good service and commitment to Scouting, both within and beyond their roles and responsibilities as active Leaders, Members or Supporters.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all Adult Recognition Award recipients on their meritorious achievements, and thank them for their leadership and commitment to Scouting and the development of our youth members over the years.

With best wishes,

Yours in Scouting,

Neville Signature
