As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Scouts NSW, like many organisations, has had to consider new ways to conduct its business including how and when it holds its AGM.
While the NSW Government has begun to ease restrictions, its phased approach and the requirements for social distancing affected the way Scouts NSW can hold its AGM this year.
The Board considered the information and advice from the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commissioner (ACNC) and reviewed the available options to ensure we could meet our statutory obligations while providing a way for Branch Councillors to safely participate in the meeting. As a result, the Board decided that this year’s AGM would be held online on Saturday 1 August 2020.
We acknowledge that an online AGM will be a very different experience for us all, however we are fortunate that we have the professional capacity to offer alternate arrangements to conduct Scouts NSW business in a way that allows us to maintain the health and safety of our members.
