What inspired you to work with youth members? Being able to give back and seeing their smiling faces when they are having fun and enjoying themselves.

Why did you become a Youth Safe Advocate? Being an active Member of Rovers attending many events it was just a given. To be a younger Adult member of Scouting and a familiar face that children can turn to for help and advice if they need it.

Why is the Youth Safe Advocate scheme important for Scouts NSW? Every Scout has a right to feel safe and shouldn’t be afraid to speak up. This scheme allows people to be easily identified as a person they can talk to. It reminded me of the Safe Houses we had within the community when I was a kid.

What is the key message you would everyone to remember about the Youth Safe Advocate scheme? Speak up, Youth Safe Advocates are here to help you. No issue is silly, let us know of anything that is concerning you.
